Massachusetts Governor Files Housing Bond Bill

Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick (D) has filed a bill for a proposed $1.1 billion bond issue to fund the development and preservation of affordable housing and community development projects in the state over the next five years. The measure, if approved, would provide substantial new funds for various state housing programs and initiatives, including $500 million to upgrade state-owned public housing developments, and $200 million for the state’s housing trust fund.
