Tax Credit Advisor, July 2011: A new report details how the federal historic rehabilitation tax credit has generated significant economic benefits in the last two years as well as over its life.
Prepared by the Rutgers University Center for Urban Policy, the study is the second annual report commissioned by the Historic Tax Credit Coalition and provides a national analysis of the economic benefits – direct and multiplier – of the federal historic tax credit (HTC) program. Historic preservation advocates will be using the report’s findings to lobby for Congressional passage of proposed legislative changes – crafted by the Coalition – to enhance and strengthen the historic tax credit.
