Washington Proposes Changes to 2010 LIHTC Policies

Tax Credit Advisor, October 2009: The Washington State Housing Finance Commission has issued a memo summarizing proposed changes to its LIHTC program polices for 2010. Among the substantial proposed changes are to: eliminate the 20% set-aside for HUD HOPE VI projects; make all projects applying for 2010 and 2011 competitive credits to be eligible for the 130% basis boost; increase the maximum per-unit credit cap by 10% for 2010 and 2011; allow farmworker projects to compete only outside the Rural Housing set-aside; and limit to 10% the developer’s fee for projects competing in the Rural Housing.
